Volunteers are needed to assist with the daily operation of the museum! We are always looking for volunteers, and have many different volunteer roles that you or your organization can help us fill! Contact us to discuss the best way to assist with the growing needs of children in our community.

VOLUNTEER MUSEUM ASSISTANT

Help is needed to operate the Rockwell Railroad trains. Available shifts are 2 hours on weekdays and 4 hours per shift on Saturdays. Background check is required. Inquire in person.

MUSEUM EDUCATOR

Assist with the development of educational activities for children ages 4-12. Activity topics are selected based on the subject matter of various exhibits. This volunteer project can be worked on at the museum or in the privacy of your home. This is perfect for a retired educator or education majors looking to develop their resumes.

EXHIBIT DESIGNER

Come play with us and create learning experiences for children. Help us continue expanding the exhibit gallery by designing and building exciting interactive exhibits. Together we can brainstorm ideas linked to the utilization of local resources. Recipes are published in exhibit cookbooks making it possible for individuals to build exciting interactive exhibits at a fraction of the cost!

Exhibits provide hands-on learning experiences linked to math, science, social studies and the humanities. If you have experience building anything, you should consider building something for fun!

GENERAL LABORER

Help! Exhibits need to be relocated, along with file cabinets and other things. Volunteer your strength to help out with some of our more labor-intensive tasks.

PAINTER

There is a lot of painting to do at the museum! There will be several paint events organized on the weekends, weekdays and in the evenings also. We need basic wall and trim painting.

ARTISTIC PAINTER

We are looking for artists to embellish the museum walls and exhibits.

Projects vary in size.
